On Gaussian Interference Channels with mixed interference

This work analyzes a particular achievable region for Gaussian interference channels (IFC) derived from the general Han-Kobayashi region. By reformulating the Han-Kobayashi achievable region as the sum of two sets, we characterize the maximum achievable sum-rate with Gaussian inputs and without timesharing in closed from for any Gaussian IFC. We then show that the computed sum-rate meets the up...

On the Achievable Rate Sum for Symmetric Gaussian Interference Channels

We compute the exact rate sum of a symmetric Gaussian interference channel for the HanKobayashi region with Gaussian signaling for a subset of parameters in the weak interference regime. In this subset we identify three regimes of operation: an initial set where treating interference as noise is optimal, an intermediate regime where one employs a time-sharing strategy (with power control) betwe...

Ergodic Capacity Region of Fading Gaussian Multiple Access Channels with Common Data∗

A Gaussian multiple access channel with common data is considered. Capacity region when there is no fading is known [1]. We give a characterization of the ergodic capacity region when there is fading, and both the transmitters and the receiver know the channel perfectly. Then, we provide an iterative method for the numerical computation of the ergodic capacity region.

Fading Channels and Interference Avoidance

Interference avoidance for multiaccess fading channels is considered in the paper. Slowly varying (quasistatic) and rapidly varying (dynamic) frequency selective fading channels are considered. For the former application of interference avoidance is straightforward, while for the latter interference avoidance is applied to the average channel.

FEEDBACK LIMITED OPPORTUNISTIC SCHEDULING AND ADMISSION CONTROL FOR ERGODIC RATE GUARANTEES OVER NAKAGAMI-m FADING CHANNELS

In this paper, we consider downlink transmission in a cellular wireless network, where a base station communicates with multiple mobile stations (MSs) over Nakagami-m fading channels. MSs are classified into two classes, and each class has its own minimum ergodic rate requirement. We propose an opportunistic scheduling and admission control scheme that aims at guaranteeing minimum ergodic rates...
